Just had an Indian sounding "Daniel" from Telstra call my mother's place saying that I need to connect to the internet so he could "guide" me through the process of securing my PC from malware etc. When I told him there was no internet or PC attached to that phone number he insisted I give him my number so he could call me. I refused & asked him for his number so I could ring him back and he gave me this number. Needless to say, I haven't spoken to him since.

Alex proclaiming to be from Telstra wanted to install Teamviewer on my computer so he could increase the speed of my internet. I know Teamviewer will allow the other person to take control of your computer to fix problems but will also allow the other person to install unwanted software on your computer to steal information. I did not allow this and asked for a phone number to ring so I could instigate the dialog between the so called Telstra tech and myself. This is when I Googled 0390134396 and came up upon this web site. I did not proceed any further.

just had someone claiming they were from Telstra and stating their number was 0390134396 and their Telstra Id was 179149.
I cross questioned the hell out of the chick and then she hung up.

i work at Telstra and lately we have had our customers calling asking if we have called to test the speed of their internet.
they will take you to an actual Telstra site to test the speed then they will ask you to look up overseas address's leading you to believe you have been using over seas access points. if you proceed to click into the overseas address's your computer will be over to them and have a virus. Telstra do not call our customers and instruct them to do anything over the internet. please be aware.

Indian scam calls reporting to be from telstra saying that your internet will be disconnected if you dont do certain things in your computer or visit a certain website which will infect your computer thru browser exploits
